CMV what???

CMV infection. We were told last week that my blood results from the hospital came back showing that I was positive for a recent CMV infection. This can be a serious thing. Problems with the baby can go from mental retardation, liver problems, vision and hearing loss. So after the initial freak out and meltdown by me we started praying. We were sent to a doctor in Louisville for a high risk ultrasound today to look at her brain and liver for calcifications. This is the news from doctor: the hospital ran the wrong test last week when I was there. Instead of checking for IgM levels specific for CMV infection the hospital checked for IgM levels for my entire system. So of course they a came back positive/high because they were supposed too! So the lab is currently rechecking my blood for CMV and we will get the results back in 1-2 days. In the meantime the doctor went ahead and did the high risk ultrasound and he could not find anything wrong with Anna Lee. Her brain, heart, liver, and everything else was perfect. She weighed approx. 5lbs 10oz and has hair! At this point even if my test results come back saying I have CMV then we know that she is good internally and we only have reason to worry about her vision and hearing at birth and later on in life. We are now praying the results come back saying I've already had CMV in the past which would mean I am immune to it and could not have passed it on to anyone else. We are very thankful for all the prayers and we know that God has blessed us yet again with these positive results. Praise Jesus!
